I’ve rebuilt more than homes in my life. Through career shifts, single motherhood, and uncertainty, I learned how powerful it is to create stability from the ground up.
I was sitting on a porch with my parents, telling them about my house. It wasn’t very cute when I bought it, but I had transformed it into something I truly loved. As I finished describing the process, both of them—almost comically at the same time—said, “You need to get into real estate.”
“Maggi,” my mom said, “you can fix anything in a house. You’ve always had an eye for design. What are you waiting for?”
She wasn’t wrong. I’ve always had a passion for interior design. I earned an interior design degree in college and then worked in a designer showroom for 7 years, a job I loved! Talking with people about finishes, architecture, and tile layouts felt natural to me.
Life shifted when I moved to Minneapolis to open a flower shop with my cousin. In the meantime, I took a job at Nordstrom, thinking it would be temporary. Instead, it turned into a seven-year career in sales and management. Nordstrom shaped how I think about service. The customer always comes first, and luxury isn’t just about price—it’s about the little details that make the journey delightful. Those years gave me the foundation for how I work with people today.
Through Nordstrom, I met my ex-husband, and we eventually relocated to the south of Denver to open a new Nordstrom branch. We also welcomed our children: Isaac, Oliver, Margo, and Lola.
Professionally, I felt settled, but my personal life told a different story. My marriage ended in divorce, and suddenly I was raising 4 children on my own, the youngest just one year old. I worked 2 to 3 jobs at a time and struggled financially. Through it all, my faith carried me. I read the Bible every morning, went to church on weekends, and never gave up on God. I held onto the belief that there was a light at the end of the tunnel and that provision would come.
I sold men’s clothing, opened coffee shops in downtown Denver, became a personal trainer at Orange Theory—whatever it took to keep going. Still, that porch conversation with my parents stayed with me. They were right. Homes and design had always been my passion, and it was time to return to it.
I got my real estate license in 2015, and it has brought me more joy than I could have imagined. Along the way, I was also reunited with Michael, my husband now. We grew up in the same area in Wisconsin and have known each other since our teenage years. Life brought us back together in Denver, both divorced and each having raised 4 children of our own. We met again through our sons, who played against each other in hockey.
Today, I feel deeply blessed—doing work I love, in a life I’m grateful for. I enjoy working out, playing pickleball, hiking, and anything related to interior design. Michael is a custom builder, and we’re now dreaming about starting a design company together. My kids are all in their twenties, which has given us more time to create and even indulge my newest obsession: baking sourdough bread.
In the end, real estate brought me back to who I’ve always been. It gave purpose to my creativity, stability to my life, and a way to serve others with the gifts I was given.
With 11 years of experience, I bring a client-centered approach to real estate, focused on building long-term relationships rather than one-time transactions. I genuinely care about my clients’ happiness and will go the extra mile to ensure they feel supported and excited throughout the process. My background in design allows me to expertly stage homes, help sellers present their properties at their best, and guide buyers in seeing a home’s true potential. I enjoy helping clients imagine what a space could become and offering thoughtful remodeling ideas to bring that vision to life. I also connect clients with trusted contractors who can execute the work seamlessly.
Joy is central to how I work—I love bringing warmth, laughter, and positive energy into every interaction. I believe premium service lives in the details, from staying consistently available to answer questions to surprising clients with personalized touches. Because my husband is a luxury home builder, I can also offer expert consultations when needed, and I’m always happy to assist with interior design after the purchase to create a home that clients truly love.
Sincerely,
